Deep blues, starry purples, and warm sand colors.

Made to mix together or stand on their own.

Some days the best sign that something meaningful happened is the kitchen.

I see a big mess before I go to bed—these gatherings are never over when I’m still awake.

Teenage girls making a “wedding” (really just a very good excuse to dress up and laugh too much).

An erev shira that goes late into the night, with friends singing their hearts out before heading back to the army.

They cook for themselves, host, and clean up. And by morning, I come down and everything is washed and stacked again.

If my ceramics get to be part of those moments—shared meals, music, friends staying longer than planned—I’m genuinely grateful.

I love seeing how pieces leave the studio and become part of someone’s life. Someone wonderful recently sent me a photo of one of my clay baskets on her dining room table in Texas. I adore the chandelier above it—how the light falls across everything, how intentional the space feels.

I’m honored that something made here in Jerusalem found its way there, and is now part of her beautiful table, holding everyday moments and gatherings.

This new footed bowl came out of that image—out of the realization that some pieces aren’t meant to be tucked away. They’re meant to stay out, to live in the center of a home, to be part of the rhythm of daily life.

Soon the inside will be glazed a bright blue, with blue highlights and the outside will stay warm, brown clay with blue highlights on the pedestal.

Made to be lived with.

The world is not suffering from a shortage of plates.
And yet…People keep choosing handmade ones.
I think it’s because every meal feels a little different when someone cared enough to make the thing you’re eating from.
Or maybe everyone just likes pretty plates.
Both are reasonable.

Yesterday my daughter and her fiancé came to the studio to choose dishes for their future home.
I thought we were choosing tableware.
Turns out I was watching a lovely negotiation between balagan and “everything has a place.”
Our family is balagan.
In his home, everything has a place. (And they probably know where it is.)
They made it work.
Dairy dishes: earthy, a little wild, slightly untamed.
Meat dishes: clean, simple, and well-behaved.
It was basically a personality test in ceramics.
And the surprising part wasn’t the choices.
It was how easy it was — like they’ve been practicing this their whole lives.
