My 91-year-old mom just survived a hospital stay, a flight to Israel, and a week of ballistic missles. So when she said “Let’s go the Dead Sea,” I grabbed the keys.
A customer once told me this tray looks like the Dead Sea. I spent weeks in the studio trying to bottle that color, but watching my mom float taught me the real lesson.
The Dead Sea is the lowest place on earth, yet it’s the only place where you can’t sink. You just let the water hold you up.
I make these pieces as a reminder: Life is heavy right now, but you are built to stay afloat. My mom’s rule is to use the “good china” every day—don’t save the beauty for a calmer time. Use it now.

Today we hold both memory and renewal in the same breath.On Yom HaZikaron, we feel the absence of those we have lost with a depth that words can’t carry—only silence can. We miss them not in the abstract, but in the details: the lives they lived, the people they were, the futures that were taken from them and from us.
And then, almost without transition but with deep intention, we move into Yom HaAtzmaut.
This shift is not forgetting. It is a choice—an act of continuity. To stand in grief and still choose life. To remember and still build. To let their absence deepen our commitment to the presence we create here.

Between the sirens and the sprints to the safe room, the wheel keeps spinning. People often ask how I find my “center” in the middle of a conflict, and the truth is, I don’t always.
But I am raising my family here, I’m being Jewish here, and I’m making ceramics here. This life—this specific, beautiful, complicated, terrifying, and resilient life—is my clarity of purpose.
May a better future for all the people of Israel, Iran, and the entire region be close.

My daughter and I stood in so much sky it felt like my thoughts could stretch.
Wind. Silence. Space — outside and inside.
We also stayed in a home (not a reserved for Airbnb home but a place where someone lived) with almost nothing extra.
No clutter. No “just in case.” Only what was needed. It felt honest. And sane.
I came back to Jerusalem and started decluttering everything. (For the record, a mother of seven can attach meaning or possibility to way too many things.)
And somewhere between donation piles and reorganized drawers, I had a quiet thought:
I make things. Beautiful, handmade things.
How does that fit with wanting less?
Here’s where I landed:
It’s not about just less. It’s about choosing what earns its place. What is held and becomes part of a meaningful daily life.
That’s what I want to make.
A bowl you reach for every morning.
A platter for Shabbat chicken.
A cup steady in your hands after a hard day.
Not clutter. Not trends.
But pieces that live with you. Beauty with purpose. Usefulness with heart.

I heard this years ago. It’s held onto space in my brain ever since. I know this is my favorite mug to make and use. I can’t help but see other people and their mug choices and wonder.

This tray started as a small rebellion against routine.

I promised myself that I’d make room for one experiment each week. This tray came from that promise.

I let texture lead and color move. There’s something beach-like here with texture and layers of color that change with the light.

One of these is back in the kiln where I’m experimenting with some additional layers of color. I want to keep pushing this tray to see where it can go.

And soon it will be ready for a home where beauty is lived with, not saved for special occasions.

I found the original mold for this bowl on the street – a very Jerusalem thing. Someone didn’t have the need for a wide glass bowl anymore, but it felt full of possibility to me.

It’s wide, shallow shape makes it my idea of the perfect salad bowl. It lets the color and pattern of the dish shine and lets a colorful salad show itself in all its natural, healthy beauty.

I took the original form made a bisque mold from it. Now I use it over and over.

Today, though, in my area it’s sunny and lovely. The kind of day where you drink your tea and feel grateful for the light.

This is the quiet middle—when the clay is firm but still open to change. I love this stage because it reminds me that discovery takes time. I have an idea of where I am going but little with clay or art or life is fully predictable. And the most beautiful things don’t rush becoming what they are.

I realized then that I needed to contribute in the way I know best: through making. I chose to donate all proceeds to Beit Binyamin, an organization that supports evacuees, soldiers, bereaved families, and people carrying the trauma of war, offering rest and real healing.

Together, we were also able to bring ceramics into their programs, supporting artists in Tzfat and offering clay as a therapeutic tool.
It feels like a quiet, meaningful circle — from my hands, to your home, and outward to healing.
